If you are on a real budget and you don’t expect to be using your treadmill for much more than walking then this price range is probably your best bet. Having said that, don’t expect the machine to be problem free for long. Remember, when it comes to treadmills you really do get what you pay for!

Priced under $500 this treadmill is great value when compared to more expensive options. The 2.5HP motor allows powerful, reliable workouts for even the heavier users. Four preset programs and iFIT compatibility keeps workouts interesting and exciting.

Category 3: Treadmills between $500 – $1,000

Treadmills in this price range I still consider budget. There are however a couple of great value machines to be found in this category. Luckily I’ve done the hard work for you so you don’t have to. These are my favorite models in this price range.

Smooth 5.25 Treadmill

Rated “Excellent value for money” by the treadmill doctor this treadmill has been a great entry level seller for years. Similar specification to the Weslo Cadence c72 (2.5HP and 10 year motor warranty) but with more special features including extended belt length so you can really stretch out, 7 in built workouts to keep your workouts interesting and a special low noise belt so you don’t disturb others. All this and the space saving fold away design make it my favourite entry level treadmill

Proform 995 SEL Treadmill

With a more powerful motor, 8 built in workouts and approximately $300 cheaper than the Smooth 5.15P, you might think this is a better option in this category. However it only has a 90 day warranty and for treadmills in this price category the longer the warranty the better.

Category 4: Treadmills Between $1,000 – $1,500

Now we’re talking! If you are considering treadmills in this category then you are making a smart move. In my opinion they offer the best value for money as the machines need to be of a higher quality to get a decent number of sales. In fact its not uncommon to find a few treadmills in this range that would easily cost over $2,000 if it wasn’t so competitive. Two such treadmills are…

Given the “Best Buy” award by the treadmill doctor this treadmill is at the top of this category. Dual fan motors extend the life of the machine reducing repair costs. Electronic display with inbuilt safety features. Powerful 2.5HP motor and premium shock absorbing deck are just some of the features and benefits. Highly recommended!

Cardio Strength Treadmill 4750

Massive 3.0HP motor with a 30 year warranty make this another fantastic choice. 15% incline for challenging workouts and huge 58 inch walking surface make this treadmill worth a second look. Only disadvantage is that it is not folding so you will need a bit of space.

Category 5: Treadmills Between $1,500 – $2,000

If you are looking for a high quality, solid treadmill that will love a good workout as much as you do then you have found your price range.

Smooth 9.25HR Treadmill

Huge 3.0HP motor and massive 64 inch belt make this a powerful and long machine for the serious user. As well is this there are many special features like 12 inbuilt programs, wireless chest strap and 12.5 MPH maximum speed. Great buying!

Smooth 9.25X Treadmill

Very similar to the 9.25HR but with a lifetime warranty and smooth speaker system so you can listen to music while you workout.

Category 7: Treadmills Between $3,000 – $4,000

These treadmills are near club quality. They may be a bit expensive but I’ll assure you, just like all best buy treadmills listed here, you’ll get what you pay for. The Landice range have been receiving accolades from many industry peers over the years including myself. In my opinion they are the best choice treadmills in the over $3000 category.

Landice L7 Pro Sports Trainer Treadmill (a best seller for years)

Again similar to the L7 series but they are heavier and more durable and have longer running surfaces so you can really stretch out! This verison is a light commercial and has the same screen as the Cardio Trainer above.

Priced above $5000 this is only for the serious and committed home treadmill user. It differs from the L8 LTD Cardio Trainer with its state-of-the-art control panel with workout graphics through computer animated video display
